Barcelona, capital of Catalonia in northeastern Spain, covers roughly 101 km² and has a population of approximately 1.732 million. It is Spain’s second-largest city and an influential Mediterranean cultural and economic center. The city supports 263 km of bike lanes and the Bicing bike-share system with over 147,000 subscribers.
