Founded in Oslo in 2019 with a handful of scooters, Ryde Technology has grown into the largest micromobility company to come out of Norway. The company now operates a fleet of more than 120,000 e-scooters and e-bikes across 80+ cities in Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Germany. Ryde delivered over 63 million rides in 2025 and expects to deliver up to 90 million rides in 2026.

Ryde’s model sets it apart in a sector that has often chased scale at the expense of profitability. The company has been profitable since inception, and builds and runs its operations, including fleet, technology, and local teams across 1,000+ employees, entirely in-house, without gig workers or third-party contractors. Ryde is also growing its e-bike business, expanding toward becoming a fully multimodal micromobility operator. This is underpinned by a commitment to safety (including its “Ryde School” rider education program) and climate-neutral operations.

Ryde is also a member of the Shared Micromobility Alliance, working with industry peers and cities to develop shared standards for the sector.
